Alicia Conerly, Ed.S.
Principal
Monticello Elementary

Alicia Conerly has worked in education for over 12 years. She is the recipient of a number of awards as an outstanding educator: 2015 Shell Urban Science Educator Development Award, a 2016 Shell Lab Challenge Grand Prize Award Recipient, and a 2017 Mississippi Science Teachers Association Outstanding Informal Science Educator Award. In 2017, she established the Barnes-Conerly STEM Scholarship for deserving high school graduates, and founded PUSH 4 Science Educational Services, LLC.  Alicia has served on several science award review panels both statewide and nationally and has been both a mentee and mentor for the Smithsonian in conjunction with Shell at their annual STEM Education Summit. She is the first African-American Administrator of Monticello Elementary School and first African-American female District Administrator of the Year.  She currently serves on the NSTA Board of Directors as the Multicultural/Equity Division Director.
