Christina Restrepo Nazar is an Assistant Professor of Science Education in the Division of Curriculum & Instruction at the California State University, Los Angeles. Her scholarly work includes researching and developing frameworks that support the development of youth and justice-oriented practices and dispositions in preservice teacher education. Her doctoral dissertation work, completed at Michigan State University (2018), was supported by the National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship. Dr. Nazar won the American Association of Colleges for Teacher Education Outstanding Dissertation Award for work done with youth and preservice teachers as co-participants in research design. She has published in Science Education, Cultural Studies in Science Education, and has a book chapter forthcoming (with Angela Calabrese Barton) in the Handbook of Multicultural Science Education.
