William E. Tapprich, Ph.D.
Sophie and Feodora Kahn Professor of Biology
University of Nebraska at Omaha

is an RNA biochemist, virologist and educational researcher. In basic research, he studies the structure and function of viral RNA genomes. He has served as PI on 13 basic research grants totaling $4.3 million. In discipline-based education research (DBER) he studies best practices in biology education with an emphasis on undergraduate research and has served as PI on 3 and CoPI on 12 DBER grants totaling $4.4 million and is actively involved in projects that enhance discipline-specific education for K-12 teachers and students. Read more.
